Yellow-Billed Loon

We saw this Yelllow-Billed Loon one afternoon and I dismissed it as an unremarkable bird. Later, I learned that many birders spend years trying see one. Since they live largely along remote Arctic coastlines they are one of North America’s most sought after loons. Sometimes you don’t know you found something special until later.
