Meet Bill

After retiring from a life of building things that fly in space, I started taking nature walks, which led to bird watching, which led to bird photography. And I’ve always loved to travel. Now I’m a retired guy who travels with my companion Wanda and photographs birds. I’ve seen the world through the lens of a scientist. Now I see it through the lens of a birder.

People keep asking to see my bird photographs so I thought this website would be a good way to share them with family and friends. I also want to share more than bird photographs. I want to share the stories behind them and the adventures I have traveling to far-off places to get those photographs. That’s why the web site is divided into two sections, “Bird Photography” and “Travel Stories.” Sometimes the places are as interesting as the birds!

I hope you’ll follow my “Bird of the Week” and join me on my past and upcoming adventures as I share bird photographs, travel stories and curiosities I encounter along the way. I’m having a great time, and I hope you’ll enjoy following my adventures.
