Spruce Grouse

The Spruce Grouse is another bird whose name appealed to me, leaving me hoping to see one in Alaska. This one was nice enough to pose for me.

Interesting Fact: Spruce Grouse are sometimes called “fool hens” because they are so confident in their camouflage that they allow people and predators to get perilously close.
