Sea Otters
The first animal we saw on our first trip onto Kachemak Bay wasn’t a bird. It was this sea otter. This caught us all by surprise. Watching mothers carry babies on their stomachs was an “Awww…” moment for everyone.
This otter totally photobombed a bird photograph I had lined up. One moment I was looking at a Common Murre, then next moment I was looking at this otter’s mug.
But this is the shot that stole the show. This mother sea otter has two newborns riding on her belly. And the hand in the foreground looks almost human, like a hand in a glove.
