Savannah Sparrow

I was surprised to see a Savannah Sparrow in Alaska. I always thought they lived in savannas, or maybe Georgia. But apparently Alaska is a breeding ground for this bird.

Interesting Fact: Despite its name, the Savannah Sparrow is not named after a savanna habitat. It was named after Savannah, Georgia, where one of the first specimens was collected.
