Double-Crested Cormorant

Back home in Alabama, the Double-Crested Cormorant is the cormorant I expect to see. In Homer, I was surrounded by Pelagic Cormorants, so when I spotted a Double-Crested Cormorant, it caught me by surprise. Sometimes the familiar becomes unexpected simply because you’re somewhere new.
