Cackling Goose

I almost didn’t photograph these birds because I assumed they were Canada Geese. Then another birder pointed out they were actually Cackling Geese and my camera went into overdrive. That moment made me wonder how many species I’ve overlooked over the years because I thought I already knew what I was looking at, but didn’t.
